                Who is Michael Alden?

Michael Alden combines originality and soul with his entertaining bass playing and outstanding vocals. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California during a full moon in December, 1983. From the time he was three, it was already obvious to his parents that music was in Michael's blood. His mother, a former staff composer for Warner Brothers, always listened with amazement to how powerful her young son could sing. Michael would always sing, dance, and act all around the house, often asking his three older sisters to join him. From the earliest age, Michael was always interested in acting. Maybe having both his oldest sisters sharing the role of Heather on the hit soap, "Young and the Restless," encouraged him even more to pursue acting.

Michael, at age 6 began doing community and school plays. He soon became known as the one who would always land the lead role and steal the show. Michael performed in such shows as Fiddler on the Roof (Tevya), Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour), West Side Story (Tony), Hello Dolly (Cornelius), Peter Pan (Captain Hook), Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), Guys and Dolls (Ski Masterson), Alice in Wonderland (Mad Hatter), The Mikado (Koko), Babes in Toyland (Tom), Chorus Line, (Bobby), and many others.

Michael soon moved on to higher theater productions and did many musical reviews  in Hollywood. He also played the role of Festi in Shakespear's "Twelfth Night," at the Golden Globe Theater in Hollywood. Michael acted in a television pilot called "My Secret Place," and starred in a college movie called "Lenny the Paper Boy." Playing the role of Lenny encouraged Michael to make his own movies. With two of his best friends, (Dylan Bridges and Lee Boxleitner) Michael started a production company. They recently finished their first short movie titled, "The Night the Earth Died." Some well known and respected actors also participated in this film including, Beau Bridges, Ian Oglivy, Penny Peiser, Vincent Berry, Cathryn Holcomb, and others. The three friends are already planning their next independent film, "Waiting for Leo," and expect to send it to many film festivals and the Independent Film Channel (IFC).

Michael is also shooting his first daytime talk show for public access television.  This will be a variety show with interviews, music, and comedy sketches. Michael's guests will be Emily and Beau Bridges.

Michael's dream is to be on Broadway, but he is also pursuing a music career. At age ten, he entered a prestigious  singing contest in Los Angeles, and won competing against all adults. He also sang the theme song for a television cartoon pilot.

Michael plays guitar and upright bass. He joined a respected and well known acoustic band in which he sings and plays the bass. He loves to perform live and cherishes the enthusiastic response from the audiences. Michael usually gets a roaring applause after completing only the first line of a song. The band Michael is currently in has just been signed to Rounder Records. Michael is excited to be participating in the bands new album. He has toured with the band all across America, Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
